The Program: JF&CS provides assistance for Holocaust survivors and their families through
services designed to help the elderly survivors live their remaining years safely, with dignity,
and as independently as possible. Geriatric specialists provide practical solutions, as well
as warmth and support. This is one of the comprehensive services offered through AVIV Older
Adult Services. All services are provided with an agency framework of strict confidentiality.
Services Offered:
- Comprehensive Care Services:
- Care management and counseling services
- In-home support services, such as personal care and housekeeping
- Kosher meal delivery
- Chaplaincy support
- Friendly Visitors Program
- Transportation to medical and social service appointments
- Restitution and Financial Aid:
Information and assistance in completing restitution applications
- Emergency financial
- Social Support:
A social gathering for survivors is offered through the Café Europa program. Programs feature
music, interesting lectures, and conversation and meet the last Monday of the month at
Congregation Beth Jacob.
A discussion group for Child Survivors meets monthly at the JF&CS office in
Dunwoody. (Information below)

Common Threads: A Discussion Group for Children of Holocaust Survivors
The purpose of the Common Threads Discussion Group is to provide a forum for adult children
of Holocaust survivors to meet and discuss common issues and concerns.
The program is held at the Dunwoody office of JF&CS and is facilitated by two experienced
JF&CS staff members. The facilitators begin the meeting by presenting information on a
particular topic, followed by open discussion. The group meets approximately every other month.
