Jewish Family & Career Services resettles refugees, asylees with approved status, and victims
of human trafficking.
If you received asylum in the U.S. and contact us within 30 days of your asylum award, we will enroll
you in our Matching Grant program that will provide you with:
- Financial assistance for up to 3 months
- Case management
- Employment assistance and all other services available to refugees.
Program Includes
The Mission of the resettlement program is to support people in their transition and adjustment
in the new culture and encourage independence and self-sufficiency.
Before the refugees arrive, JF&CS staff assists with:
- Family reunificatioin applications
- Pre-arrival documentation
Upon arrival, the following services are provided to address immediate needs:
- Orientation upon arrival
- Provision of furniture, rent payments, clothing and household needs
- Employment assistance
- Counseling and case management, including medical appointments and benefits

Mr. H. came to the agency as an asylee. Originally from Africa, but forced to leave his country,
he and family (wife and 3 children) finally found home in Atlanta. Mr. H. had no job, apartment
of his own, means to support the family and was desperate for help. JF&CS came to the
rescue and enrolled him in matching grant program of the Resettlement Services. He
received financial assistance, furniture for his own apartment, computer training for himself
and employment services that led to his full time employment with benefits at one of Atlanta’s
established companies. In short couple of months his life turned a different angle that allowed
him to have stability, self-sufficiency and success
