INTERACT!

About INTERACT: INTERACT is the Young Jewish Professionals Volunteer Corps of JF&CS.
Our mission is to engage, unite and inspire young adult volunteers to support the objectives of
Jewish Family & Career Services through meaningful group projects within the greater Atlanta
community.

Program Description: INTERACT offers ongoing group volunteer opportunities as well as
one time community service projects that support the mission of JF&CS. Additionally, we
encourage volunteers to develop leadership roles within the group and the Agency. We also
partner with other Jewish young professional organizations to coordinate periodic special
events. Agency staff and clients appreciate the group's hands-on efforts and are excited to
have our involvement and support. Join us! Meet other volunteers who share the same interests
of doing community service and having fun together.

Population Served: INTERACT is targeted to young Jewish professionals, 21-40ish. The
population that the group serves varies, dependent upon the projects we are doing that benefit
the Agency or the community.

Ongoing Volunteer Projects: INTERACT volunteers participate in these great group volunteer
projects that support the mission of JF&CS programs and services, and/or assist the greater
Atlanta community. Join us at your convenience…and RSVP’s are required as volunteer slots fill
up quickly.

Personal Care Items Drive: INTERACT collects toiletries year-round to distribute to clients in
the Project Connect Homeless Program. Personal-size hand cream, shampoo, soap, deodorant,
toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and more are needed. Drop off items at any group event or at
JF&CS. When our bin is full, we’ll get together for dinner and to bag items for distribution.

Yard Clean-up for Holocaust Survivors: Come spend a Sunday morning cleaning up elderly
Holocaust survivors’ yards. Meet for AM coffee, then mow lawns, rake leaves, prune bushes and
sweep driveways for appreciative older adults.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Playgroup: Spend an hour having fun and doing
arts and crafts with hospitalized children. It will put smiles on their faces as well as yours. This
program fills up quickly! Contact
choa@jfcs-atlanta.org for more information.

Planning activities: INTERACT has a steering committee that plans our activities and provides
opportunities to “step up” and assume leadership roles. For more information, contact
interactevents@jfcs-atlanta.org.
