The College Counseling program of Jewish Family & Career Services operates to assist college-bound high school students and their parents in making informed decisions about the college selection process. The program offers three convenient and competitively priced options to accomplish this goal.
Our options include:
A comprehensive program including Interest Inventory Testing, Evaluations, and 12 individual sessions with a College Counselor
or
An individualized Interest Inventory Test and evaluation
or
Individualized hourly sessions to deal with specific issues
The Comprehensive Program
Takes the student through the entire selection/admission process, generally beginning in the Junior year, and continuing on until May of the student’s Senior year. The model follows practices used in select private high schools nation-wide.

What type of students have benefited from JF&CS’ College Counseling Program?
Many different needs are met in the College Counseling Program. Excellent students faced with too many options; students in large schools with excellent college counselors who lack time to give individualized assistance; or average students with a need for focus. Families who are experiencing the typical stresses associated with college admission are often helped by a neutral expert.
What are the qualifications of the person who will be working with my child?
Linda Wener, M.Ed, Vocational Guidance & Counseling, has directed the College Counseling Program at JF&CS since 1997. She regularly travels to a variety of colleges, meeting with admissions personnel, keeping abreast of changes and offerings.Linda has presented workshops at the College Board, Georgia School Counselors Association and the Southern Association of College Admission
Counselors,and is a voting member of both the National and Southern
Associations of College Admission Counselors. She has addressed high school students and their parents at many local high schools and synagogues. Linda and her husband have survived the college admission process with two daughters, daughters,sending one to Washington University in St Louis,and the other to Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and to Graduate and Professional schools in Chicago and Atlanta.
