What is TFI WORKS?
TFI WORKS (Tools for Independence WORKS) is the vocational services arm of the JF&CS division dedicated to serving adults with developmental disabilities. Training and employing individuals for meaningful work is a central part of the program, which provides creative resources for businesses and the community at large. Additionally, there are special tax benefits for small businesses who hire persons with disabilities. Tools for Independence WORKS offers the following options:
BizWORKS: Need a dedicated, permanent employee or help with temporary or seasonal overflows? BizWorks offers supported part-time or full-time employment that matches your needs with a skilled, enthusiastic and hard-working individual. Our program participants are given vocational
assessments and provided with skill development and work experience. Our trained staff monitors their progress with you on an ongoing basis.
TeamWORKS: Facing a project with a deadline that requires more arms and legs than you have? TeamWORKS offers mailing, packaging and assembly, and a variety of labor services at competitive pricing with a team supervised by our trained staff. We are committed to ensuring consistent, high-quality results for every project.
LifeWORKS: Have one of those projects you simply have no human resources to tackle? We have someone who is ready, willing and able to help. LifeWORKS participants volunteer in schools, with the elderly and in other community settings. By providing self-help, work, and social opportunities through a structured curriculum, community activities and highly supervised volunteer projects, we help our participants experience a more meaningful and independent life.
