Ben Massell Dental Clinic’s Student Volunteers

BMDC BLUE The Georgia Volunteer Health Care Program (GVHCP) recently featured Ben Massell Dental Clinic’s student volunteers in the summer issue of their Volunteer Health Care Today newsletter.

The Georgia Volunteer Health Care Program (GVHCP) of the Department of Public Health (DPH) provides Sovereign Immunity protection to licensed health care professionals who volunteer to treat uninsured individuals at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

Over the last several months we have shared many meaningful reflections as we look back on the accomplishments and memories of Gary Miller’s long tenure as CEO of our wonderful agency. Speaking on behalf of our professional staff and volunteers, we are deeply grateful for the extraordinary opportunity that Gary has created for all of us, and for the depth of services and community supports that the organization has provided for the last 24 years under his leadership.

We are very proud to announce that effective July 1, 2015, Rick Aranson will assume the role of CEO of JF&CS! Gary Miller, our CEO for the past 24 years will step into a strategic advisory role upon this transition. Words cannot express our gratitude to Gary for his vision and leadership, which has resulted in our recognition as a leading national model in the human service arena.


The Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities features TeamWORKS

 

TFI WORKSThe Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) provides treatment and support services to people with mental illnesses and addictive diseases and support to people with developmental disabilities including Intellectual disabilities. It serves people with the most severe conditions and those likely to be long term, including consumers with forensic issues. Eve Bogan, Director of JF&CS’ Developmental Disabilities -Tools for Independence division, was named this year to DBHDD’s Advisory Council.

JF&CS of Atlanta to Collaborate with AJFCA on PEPS Software

PEPSJF&CS Atlanta is recognized by its peer agencies in the Jewish communal world as well as by larger organizations in the greater community for its outstanding program management. Now in an exciting development, we have entered into a collaborative agreement with the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies (AJFCA) to provide a tool to help other member organizations be more effective in strategic and program planning. Through PEPS (Program Planning & Evaluation System) software, agencies will have a web-based set of score-card analysis tools for new and existing programs based on programmatic impact and fiscal performance.
