From Beijing to Atlanta, New York City photographer, Reed Young travels far to focus his lens on JF&CS’ Art Therapy Group at the Jewish Tower

Since 1995, residents of the Jewish Tower in Buckhead have been channeling their life experience into exquisite art, which has been displayed at their annual Gallery Show. With the help of Reed Young, this year’s members, some of which have been participating for almost two decades, will be showcased as well. Last Friday, Reed and his collaborator Rachel Gottesman, turned our artists on their heads, making them the subject of his work and bringing joy into their day and his.

Named one of Photo District News' 30 up and coming photographers in 2010, Reed has traveled the world, bringing his special blend of fine art and photo journalism photography to people of all kinds and making the mundane anything but. His works have been featured in New York Magazine and Fortune among others, and in May we will have the honor of featuring them too!

All portraits will be on sale, with proceeds benefitting the Art Therapy Group, at their annual Spring Opening. These 12 artists will show nearly 100 pieces of work under $50 each, ranging from abstract painting to water color and collage. Plus the afternoon will include tasty treats, music, video and a live auction.

Save the date to see Reed’s work and that of our 12 artists at our Spring Opening!
