Statistics show 10,000 baby boomers will turn 65 daily for the next 16 years. That’s the age that traditionally has marked someone as an “older adult.” When you hear that term, what comes to mind? Granted, people age differently than they used to. Still, the term often evokes images of elderly people needing care, medications, doctors, nursing homes, hospice and so forth. While those are the things and the people that keep their bodies healthy, there is something that can keep their minds healthy: companionship.

NORC Bids Farewell to Barbara Rosenberg

On December 31, 2011, JF&CS said goodbye to one of most faithful and long-standing employees, when Barbara Rosenberg retired after 22 years of incredible service.  Her outstanding achievements have positioned JF&CS’ NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) program and older adult services as one of the leading programs available for older adults in the State of Georgia.
