Bregman input session for professionals in the Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities field (Monday, Feb 8, 2016 10:00 am - 12:00 pm)

Input session to provide new direction for the educational aspects of the long-standing Larry Bregman, M.D. Educational Conference.

Separate input sessions with conference participants and their families/caregivers to provide new direction for the educational aspects of the long-standing Larry Bregman, M.D. Educational Conference.

Starting Over Divorce Group (Monday, Feb 8, 2016 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

Starting Over is a Divorce Support Group for men and women who are separated or divorced. Issues discussed are legal, communication, letting go, parenting, rejection, dating and adjusting to differences. Meetings are at JFCS the second and last Monday at 6:00-8:00 pm. Helen Kotler, Ph. D, LPC is the facilitator at 4042109571. Cost is $25 per session.

Dunwoody Family Caregiver Group (Tuesday, Feb 9, 2016 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm)

This is an open group for caregivers who are caring for family members. We hope to provide a safe and supportive place for caregivers in similar situations to come together to share stories and resources and to support one another. There is no fee to attend this group. It is requested that first time attendees contact Debbi Dooley before attending the group.

A Circle of Compassion (Wednesday, Feb 10, 2016 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm)

 

8-Week therapy group to support those who find themselves going through life alone or in isolation. Come join us in a supportive space to explore healthy coping skills for dealing with loneliness, isolation and alienation.

Facilitated by Danielle Dollinger and Courtney Tucker, JF&CS clinical interns

High School Girls Group (Thursday, Feb 11, 2016 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm)

This is a discussion group for teen girls in Grades 9th-12th. Teens will support each other by sharing their own experiences and offering advice in a safe place alongside two JF&CS clinicians.

An individual meeting is required before members join the group.

Every other Thursday
Location: JF&CS Cobb Office (1501 Johnson Ferry Rd Marietta 30062)

Each meeting is $25.

The group is led by Ina Enoch and Ashley Semerenko.

 

Ina completed her Education Specialist Degree and Ph. D. in School Psychology at Georgia State University. Before coming to JF&CS in January 2009, she worked for the Cobb County School System and was in private practice in Marietta for a number of years. Ina works primarily with children and adolescents and their families.

Ashley received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of North Florida and later earned her Master of Social Work degree with a clinical focus from Loyola University in Chicago. Ashley joined JF&CS in 2012 and has experience working with children, adults, couples and families.

Sandy Springs Caregiver Group (Thursday, Feb 11, 2016 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm)

Caring, sharing, and encouragement, all essential elements of the human experience, may be found in this group for caregivers. Whether you are taking care of a spouse, parent, other family member, loved one, friend, or neighbor, we hope that this group will provide you with a safe place to share your thoughts and feelings and help you to develop a network of support through an exchange of information and experiences.

This is an open and free group.

Location: Huntcliff Summit I (1st floor conference room), 8592 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs.
